Transport Specialist Companies can submit a collective claim through a platform set up by the RHA if they’ve been affected by the fixed truck prices.
In July 2016, the European Commission fined five European truck manufacturers nearly €3 billion for fixing truck prices. The manufacturers were party to a cartel from 1997 – 2011.
The transactions involved were for trucks of 6 tonnes or over, either purchased outright, leased or purchased on finance.
There may also be trucks leased or purchased after 2011 that may be affected, including second hand trucks.
The Road Haulage Association (RHA) have provided a platform for firms, companies and individuals, where they can claim compensation from manufacturers as a collective claim. Companies, individuals and firms can do this, even if you are not a member of the RHA.
The RHA has also put third-party funding and insurance into place to ensure that the collective claim can be brought, without cost to those claiming.
If you feel that you may have been affected by the cartel, please go to www.truckcartellegalaction.com to find more information and to formally sign up to the process online.
